Brewers Notes:
Pretty self explanatory as there is no mash. Just put all 3 cracked grains in 1 gallon of cold water(preferably in grain sack). Bring to boil. Turn off heat. Add malt syrup, bring to boil. Then just add hops at the right times, filter out hops and grain bits from wort into 5 gallon fermenter already filled with 3 gallons of cold water. Add more cold water to fill the carboy to about 4 inches from top. Pitch yeast, ferment 2.5 weeks. When we bottle we prime with 3/4 cup of corn sugar. A week after bottling, it's ready. A great Imperial stout with a hint of chocolate-coffee flavor. |
